The hometown tax donation program is a system that allows you to donate to a municipality of your choice. The portion exceeding 2,000 yen of your donation is deductible from your income and resident taxes (within certain limits).
Furubira Town allocates donations to the following initiatives:
- (1) Enhancing Educational Environments, Promoting Culture, and Supporting Child-Rearing
We support the growth and educational environment of children who will lead the next generation. Furubira Town is strengthening child-rearing support measures as part of its population decline countermeasures. Donations are used to fund these initiatives. - (2) Enhancing Community Welfare
With over 40% of the population being elderly, Furubira Town is improving welfare services and facilities to ensure residents can live comfortably and securely. - (3) Promotion of Local Industry
Furubira is known for its active fishing and seafood processing industries. Main catches include Atka mackerel, octopus, shrimp, cod, and sea urchin. Seafood processing focuses primarily on cod roe. - (4) Other Uses
Donations without specified uses are applied to various community development projects beyond those listed above.
