The sight of Tengu in vermilion robes walking over flames continues to illuminate Kobira's night sky, symbolizing the prayers and wishes of the townspeople. Setakamui Rock is a uniquely shaped rock whose name means “Dog God” in the language of the Ainu, the indigenous people of northern Japan. According to legend, it is a dog that waited so long for its owner who never returned from fishing that it turned into stone.
